The Sogang University Behavioral and Experimental Research Center was established in 2013 with the creation of Korea's first independent experimental research laboratory, SEE (Sogang Experimental Economics) Laboratory, to systematically advance research in behavioral and experimental economics. Since its inception, the center has been conducting significant research in the field and has become the only hub for behavioral and experimental economics in Korea. Through various domestic and international seminars and workshops, it has played a leading role in advancing research in this field. The center aims to expand its internal and external research collaborations and enhance exchanges with experimental economics research centers worldwide to establish itself as the Asian hub in the global research network. Moreover, the center seeks to contribute to the development of Korea’s economy through experimental studies that verify universal economic theories and phenomena, as well as those addressing the cultural and social-norm-driven particularities of Korea’s economy.

The center comprises the Center Director, internal and external research collaborators, faculty members from the Department of Economics, and a laboratory manager.

The center conducts research on the following topics through laboratory experiments and field experiments:
- Verification of economic theories and predictions
- Examination of basic economic assumptions and behavioral variable effects
- The impact of Korean cultural characteristics on economic decision-making

- SEE Lab is Korea’s first laboratory dedicated to behavioral and experimental economics. It is equipped with 60 PCs, partitions, and projectors, and is managed by the Center Director and Laboratory Manager.
